February is a very special month at CHAC Gallery because its when we host our annual fundraiser Milagros del Corazon~Miracles of the Heart. This year marks our 17th year! Please join us for:
"Milagros del Corazón" 2024 Feb. 10th from 1:00-4:00 PM VFW Post 501, located at 4747 W. Colfax in Denver
"Milagros del Corazón" is held annually to support CHAC’s year-long educational programming. This year over 70 CHAC artists and community members have created one-of-a-kind hand-crafted “art hearts” to be auctioned off. These beautiful and unique pieces represent each artist’s individual vision and sense of story. Family- friendly, free and open to the Public.
Hearts will be auctioned off during the evening’s silent auction, along with other artwork and gift baskets. Find the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for your loved ones, while giving back to CHAC Gallery. Food and entertainment will be provided along with an artist meet and greet.
This year “Milagros del Corazon” is dedicated to long-time CHAC member, former CHAC Executive Director and Vice Chair, Lucille Ruibal Rivera. Rivera dedicated her time, talent, and treasure to preserving the legacy of CHAC for over 30 years. She passed away this past November, a victim of Domestic Violence. Proceeds from the event will be dedicated in part to helping CHAC establish a new educational art program to help families affected by Domestic Violence. Join us for this inspirational event as we honor and remember the woman who gave her heart and soul to CHAC.
*Making a heart for "Milagros del Corazón"? Please return hearts by Feb. 8th (12pm-4pm) to CHAC @ 40West 7060 W. 16th Ave. Lakewood, CO 80214. Hearts can also be dropped off this Friday during First Friday at CHAC @ 40West.

Artist Statement Judy Miranda Photographer, Painter, Santera
Throughout my life different events and socio conditions have influenced my evolution as an artist. Yet the decisive factor in my life and art expression was and is the education I have acquired. Knowledge has been the vehicle through where I search for the answers to my cultural identity and have been fortunate to encounter along the way liberating pedagogy.
My art represents the element of multiple realities as Latina/Chicana woman. Modern society has de-culturalized and disfranchised us in so many ways where we at times walk in modern society separated from our rooted blood lines of our ancestors. Therefore, through my art I attempt to reclaim the indigenous and cosmic identity.
With my art I try to remind the audience that we cannot forget who we are as people and how diversity makes us a stronger community, and nation.
*Judy is an artist in the upcoming "Reflections of Culture" exhibit and was also a curator.
