Scientists just found something strange... Why is Pluto's atmosphere disappearing? Image Source: NASA / Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory Pluto's atmosphere is going through a strange transformation, scientists are finding.
The icy dwarf planet, which lies over 3 billion miles away from Earth in the Kuiper Belt, caught astronomers' attention as it passed in front of a star back in 2018.
With the star backlighting Pluto, the team of researchers was able to make observations of the dwarf planet and its atmosphere. With this unique view, they came to a surprising conclusion.

What is languishing and what are the signs you're experiencing this rising mental health issue?
Just because you haven’t been diagnosed with depression, doesn’t necessarily mean you’re in a great head space, experts say. In fact, people without mental illness can experience a range of burnout-esque symptoms that prevent them from enjoying their best life.
Experts call the phenomena “languishing,” and say that it’s a growing malady all over the world.
“You’re just kinda stuck — and I think the reason [languishing] is getting so much attention now is because again I think the whole world is,” says author Kristin Neff.

This new technology could completely prevent dangerous hydroplaning
A new device being developed could quite literally save your life one day, as the new technology seeks to prevent vehicles from hydroplaning.
Also known as aquaplaning, hydroplaning happens when a car runs through water that has built up on the road’s surface and causes the vehicle’s tires to completely lose grip. This is one of the leading causes of traffic accidents.
The new technology, dubbed the Run Dry Traction System (RDTS), has proven to be effective in early tests.
“Our tests demonstrate that RDTS has the potential to make a huge impact on vehicle safety in a whole host of conditions,” Mike Blundell, professor of vehicle dynamics and impact at Coventry University, explained. “A device like this really could be the difference between life and death if it can help vehicles to stop safely within certain distances and that’s why we’re so keen to continue developing this concept,” he added.
So how does RDTS work and why is it so effective?
