More schools hit by Covid infections + Positive test total hits 1,703 in seven days

Once again, Northern Ireland has set a new record for the number of new Covid-19 infections detected over a 24-hour period.
The Department of Health revealed on Tuesday that another 320 people in the Province have tested positive for the coronavirus, breaking a record that was set on both Friday and Saturday of last week.
Once again however, no new coronavirus deaths have been recorded. But, it was revealed that eight people here have been admitted to hospital with Covid-19 over the last 24 hours.
It emerged on Tuesday that a pupil at a top Northern Ireland grammar school has tested positive for coronavirus. The principal at Coleraine Grammar David Carruthers confirmed the positive case and added that pupils confirmed as having close contact with the pupil are having to self-isolate.
A second Northern Ireland school meanwhile has closed its doors after two members of staff tested positive. St. Patrick’s Primary School Saul is expected to stay closed until they receive advice from the Public Health Agency.
