Smoke and fog continue: Interstate closures could happen again this morning with smoke and fog forecast to descend upon parts of the metro area. It would be the second day in a row for such precautionary measures as firefighters continue to douse the 200-acre swamp fire that has been burning in New Orleans East since last month. Tristan Baurick has this report on why the smoke may be getting worse. Short-term rentals unfettered: The fight between the city and some property owners over short-term rental regulations inched forward Wednesday, with a court hearing in which a federal judge appeared sympathetic to the city's argument that key parts of its new regime are constitutional. However, the judge didn't rule, so the temporary freeze on the law will remain in place until he does. What's more, the city said it has been doing nothing to curtail short-term rentals in the interim, which means the practice has been completely unchecked for the past couple of months.
