More than 50 dead, 1,300 missing in Germany after extreme flooding swept away cars, collapsed homes
More than 50 people were dead and many more were feared missing after heavy rain in Germany caused rivers to burst their banks, swept away cars and caused homes to collapse, authorities said. Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed shock at the scope of the flooding. "We still don't know the number. But it will be many."
