Lansing zoo's endangered black rhino is pregnant
 
A critically endangered black rhino at Potter Park Zoo is believed to be pregnant. This is big news in zoological circles. There are only about 5,000 black rhinos in the wild. There are about 60 living in zoos in the United States. Lansing zoo staff have put considerable efforts the past few months in introducing their rhino, named Doppsee, to a male, Phineus.

Obesity is not a new issue. But it certainly isn't going away. Nationally, an estimated 31.3% of adults are obese. Michigan slots in at 32.3%, good for 32nd in the nation. The definition of obese is based on measuring a person's body mass index.
