James Craig and Perry Johnson don't have enough valid signatures to qualify for the ballot, according to the Michigan Bureau of Elections.

The state says petition errors and fraud could keep 18 Michigan candidates off the ballot.

Invalid signatures: Candidates for governor, Congress and judicial positions in Michigan are required to collect signatures to qualify for the ballot – but the state is recommending 18 of those candidates seeking office in 2022 be disqualified from the ballot because of invalid signatures.

'A good starting point': At least two of those marked for possible disqualification, GOP gubernatorial candidates James Craig and Perry Johnson, say they will fight the possible ejection from the race.

In West Michigan, we have a look at 4 Republicans and 1 Democrat disqualified for various reasons, including unpaid campaign fees and unorganized campaign committees to candidates not living in the district they said they were running for.
