Athletes, parents, coaches react to school's new random drug testing
 
This week is the first time students at Plainwell High School could be randomly tested for drugs. A new policy mandates all athletes and students participating in other extracurricular activities opt in to a random drug testing practice, which includes testing for nicotine use. We talked to students, coaches and parents to get reactions about the new policy.

Coaches from the university's football program proved it over the weekend as they visited Martinez in Muskegon, attending his basketball game and then coming to his house. Michigan's second international dark sky park makes its debut
 
Few things are as lovely as a sky full of stars. But in order to see as many stars as possible, you need to get away from light pollution. There aren't many places to really see the night sky in all its star-studded glory. Luckily, Michigan has two international dark sky parks as Dr. T.K. Lawless Park in Cass County now has that designation. It offers a dark sky park experience for another corner of Michigan, since the state's other one is located in Mackinaw City. MORE
