Billboards claims Whitmer did not protect seniors from COVID-19
 
While some have publicly criticized Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for taking what they see as too many steps to protect state residents from COVID-19, a conservative group now has a different claim -- that Whitmer didn't take enough steps to protect the state's seniors. A billboard campaign commissioned by the Michigan Freedom Fund is questioning Whitmer's response as it relates to seniors, displaying the number of deaths from the virus within Michigan nursing homes. MORE

Once a leader for the Wolverines on the basketball court, David Merritt is now a leader in other ways. The former point guard, who started playing for the University of Michigan during the 2007-2008 season, says he learned a lot from his athletic experiences that he took into life after college. Merritt started a clothing line with a nonprofit attached that builds mentor relationships and gives out scholarships. Plus, he's a pastor and co-owns a coffee shop in his hometown of Detroit. MORE

Michigan high school holds commencement at drive-in movie theater
 
While traditional graduation ceremonies were canceled or postponed across the state this year, one Michigan high school recently found a way to gather and celebrate. Grand Blanc High School held a special ceremony at a local drive-in theater, where students, staff and parents were able to get together one last time. It was topped off with an 80-minute graduation film commemorating the class of 2020. Congrats to all the grads! VIDEO
