If implemented properly, firearm legislation can make a difference when it comes to preventing gun-related injuries and death according to a recent policy study from researchers at the University of Michigan. Republicans sue: Two Michigan lawmakers, two business groups and six other residents have joined together to sue Michigan’s treasury department to make permanent a temporary tax cut that took effect this year. More in politics: Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will deliver a “What’s Next” address Wednesday, calling for paid family leave, a transition to 100% clean energy and additional election legislation. |

Weed war intensifies in small U.P. town |
On the border: Marijuana turf wars have moved from street corners to city hall. In Menominee, at least eight business are competing for a place in the marijuana market. A "Bermuda Triangle": A couple living just 15 minutes outside Ann Arbor say they have had 18 outages in the past year. They can frequently see a triangular area around their home on DTE’s outage map. For those on the road: More than 70 new construction projects will require some form of road closures this week in Michigan as crews continue their busy season. |
