It's starting to feel like fall in Michigan |
Between cooler temperatures, pumpkin spice treats and trips to the local cider mill, it's feeling quite autumnal throughout the Great Lakes state. A Michigan forest in Commerce Township is about to turn spooky. Back for its fourth year beginning on Friday, September 22, Glenlore Trails' immersive nighttime stroll will have a “CarnEvil” theme for 2023 with more interactive experiences and games along the way. Frankenmuth's Funtown Chowdown Food Truck Festival is wrapping up its summer series on Thursday, Sept. 14. Bid farewell to this annual event and usher in fall with an Oktoberfest theme. |

In support: In a letter sent to the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners, 110 doctors, social workers and other medical staff in the county signed their support for the health department to be fully funded at the level it requested back in May. Lower the price: Democrats in Michigan’s legislature have proposed establishing a board that could cap the price of costly prescription drugs, following through on a policy Gov. Most of us will have low temps in the 40s with the exception of around the Detroit area holding up into the low-50s. Grab the umbrella: Yes, the three day rain is almost over. Here’s the drenching numbers so far and what’s left to fall. Bird's eye view: Birds are taking flight as their annual fall migration begins. The $75 million legal questions of a potential Michigan State-Mel Tucker split |
The stakes are high if Michigan State moves to terminate Mel Tucker's contract in the coming weeks and months: he has more than $75 million remaining on the 10-year contract. Legal experts say there's a range of outcomes should Michigan State seek to fire Tucker and avoid paying out his contract. In the lineup: A couple of 2-0 Big Ten teams will face tough tests this Saturday, with Michigan State hosting No. 8 Washington and Minnesota visiting No. 21 North Carolina. The latest Big Ten rankings were released after somewhat bland week in the conference. Home turf: When the Lions host the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday for the home opener at Ford Field, it’s arguably one of the more anticipated home openers since playing in downtown Detroit. |
