Whitmer requests federal major disaster declaration for coronavirus response
 
During a press conference Thursday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer again urged residents to take necessary precautions to limit the spread of coronavirus. It wasn't her only request, as Whitmer announced she has asked President Trump's administration to grant a major disaster declaration to help with the state's response to COVID-19.
