The latest data: Michigan reported 30,120 abortions last year, which was up 0.2% from 2021 and marked the highest one-year total since 1995, according to annual data recently published by the Department of Health and Human Services. While the statewide total was up, the rate of abortions per 1,000 females age 15 to 44 actually declined. Seeking care: The number of out-of-state patients traveling to Michigan to obtain an abortion increased 66% in 2022 from the year prior as the topic became a nationwide point of debate with the overturning of Roe v.
