On March 23, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed a "Stay Home, Stay Safe" executive order. More than two months later, on Monday, June 1, it was lifted. She officially moved that state to what is considered phase 4 of the MI Safe Start recovery plan. The move to phase 4 also means several sectors of the economy will be allowed to either reopen for the first time or extend their services beyond what was allowed under the prior order. Even though the stay-home order has been lifted, the state and medical experts are still encouraging safety and social distancing.
