John Ball Zoo announces names for red panda cubs |
Animal kingdom: John Ball Zoo’s little red panda cubs officially have names, voted on by the community. The winning names are Dawa, which means “moon” in Bhutanese for the male cub and Nima, which means “sun,” for the female cub. Also in the Midwest: A young male moose is roaming southern Minnesota, bringing joy to thousands as he makes his way north through the normally moose-free area, according to reports. He has a herd of more than 21,000 followers who are tracking his movements on a community Facebook page, Central MN Moose on the Loose. Be careful: With deer hunting season in full swing the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development are warning residents of the dangers of buying venison and venison products from unlicensed sources. |
