Detroit Lions select Iowa tight end in first round of 2019 NFL Draft
 
Forgive some Detroit Lions fans (majority?) for not loving Thursday night's first round selection T.J. Hockenson. The last time Detroit selected a tight end with its first pick in the NFL Draft, it didn't turn out so good. (See: Ebron, Eric) However, Hockenson may already be more well rounded than Ebron ever will be. ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper referred to Hockenson as a "throwback." That sounds promising. Michigan districts ruled gerrymandered, but Senate will appeal
 
A federal three-judge panel ruled Thursday afternoon that Michigan's Congressional and legislative districts are unconstitutionally gerrymandered and need to be redrawn prior to the 2020 election. Less than two hours after that ruling came down, Michigan Senate majority leader Mike Shirkey, R-Clark Lake, said the Senate would appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. MORE
