Ann Arbor drinking water tests show at least seven types of PFAS present
HPFAS levels in Ann Arbor's drinking water have been on the rise this year, and seven types of the "forever chemicals" have been detected so far, city records show. Previously unreleased test results obtained by The Ann Arbor News/MLive under the Freedom of Information Act shed new light on the problem, showing a concerning trend that city leaders are hoping new carbon filters at the water treatment plant will help reverse. Ann Arbor has seen PFAS in its drinking water steadily climb from 12.6 ppt in April to between 53.2 and 88.1 ppt in recent months. MORE

Michigan appeals court to review judge's sentencing in Nassar case
 
The Michigan Court of Appeals will review if Ingham County Circuit Judge Rosemarie Aquilina was biased in her sentencing of Larry Nassar, and whether she should have been allowed to decide on a motion for resentencing. Nassar, the former Michigan State University doctor found guilty of molesting hundreds of patiends, was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison in January by Aquilina. MORE

The last Old Country Buffet in Michigan closes
 
It looks as if Old Country Buffet has had its fill of Michigan. The state's last remaining OCB closed Monday in Saginaw. Thus ends the decades long gastronomical love affair between the purveyors of unlimited portions and hungry Michiganders. For those that need their Old Country Buffet fix, the closest location now for most Michiganders now is in Highland, Indiana, just outside of Chicago.

What to know about the early signing period for football in Michigan

The early signing period kicked off today at 7 a.m. for high school football players across the country. This is just the second year of the early signing period, which runs through 11:59 p.m. Dec. 21. Michigan and Michigan State both are expecting a solid crop of student athletes. All but one of Michigan's top 30 prep players are expected to sign with their college of choice in the coming days. MORE
