Joe Biden wins Democratic presidential primary
 
After Michiganders were told Tuesday's election results might be significantly delayed, there was actually a very short wait for a projection. Joe Biden was declared the winner of Michigan's Democratic primary just an hour after the vast majority of polling locations closed in the state. It is a tough loss for U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, as he focused significant efforts here, in what experts called a "must-win" state for his campaign. Sanders looked like a front-runner early in the primary season, but Biden pulled ahead after big wins in South Carolina and on Super Tuesday. MORE

First cases of coronavirus confirmed in Michigan
 
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer declared a state of emergency after the first cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Michigan Tuesday night. Michigan is the 38th state to have a confirmed case of COVID-19. Earlier in the day Tuesday, officials announced 124 people were in self-quarantine throughout the state due to potential exposure to coronavirus. MORE
