The United States experienced a baby bust as the COVID-19 pandemic shook the economy. But a new study published in the National Bureau of Economic Research from University of Michigan researchers Lea Bart and Vanessa Lang predict births for low-income women may have a smaller decline than the overall population and could have even increased during the pandemic. This bucks the “well-documented” trend for childbirth rates, which have steadily dropped in the United States for the past two decades, to sharply decline during recessions, Brookings researchers say. “When economic times are good, people have more babies; when times are tough, birth rates fall." Gretchen Whitmer said on Facebook that a governor should be hanged, testimony showed.Barry Croft Jr. wrote on Facebook in April 2020 that “I believe all it’s going to take is one state to burn … and hang a governor and the dominoes will start falling,” FBI special agent Thomas Szymanski, assigned to the Baltimore office, testified Tuesday.
