"If people behave, we have a chance"   It wasn't your typical visit to Cherry Republic. But Traverse City was open this weekend, and the tourists were out and about. Between Gov. Whitmer's reopening of northern Michigan, the holiday weekend and the nice weather, many Michiganders as well as out-of-state tourists drove north to places like Traverse City. Mackinac Island's Mission Point Resort announces opening day     Not everyone prefers the Grand Hotel when staying on Mackinac Island. In fact, ask around and you'll find there are plenty of diehard Mission Point fans (often those that like a great view and a slight separation from the island hubbub). Mission Point will open June 25 this year with new perks. Michigan dam failures leave path of destruction     Where there was once a lake on the border of Midland and Gladwin counties, there is now an empty pit. When the Edenville Dam failed on Tuesday, Wixom Lake drained.
