Biden, Bernie focused on Michigan as primary election approaches
 
It's zero hour for the Democratic candidates who are hoping to win over Michiganders before Tuesday's primary election. Former Vice President Joe Biden is personally visiting the state to try and rally support while also sending U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar to visit Michigan cities on his behalf. Biden's competition, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, has also set his sights on our state, which he won during the 2016 Democratic primary, beating eventual nominee Hillary Clinton. U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren was also scheduled for another Michigan visit this week, until she dropped out of the race Thursday. MORE

U.S. House Democrats launch probe into Nestle water bottling

U.S. House Democrats want to take a look at documents related to Nestle's bottled water operations in Michigan and other states. U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib is helping to lead the effort amid concerns surrounding the environmental impact of bottled water practices within the country. "Where my constituents are having their water shut off due to exorbitant bills, we have Nestle up the road profiting millions off the water my community is being denied," Tlaib said. MORE

It all starts tonight and continues through the weekend as 32 teams fill the DeltaPlex Arena in Walker for the state championships. Eric Mays arrested, removed from Flint council chambers
 
During a special meeting of the Flint City Council this week, Councilman Eric Mays was arrested and removed from council chambers. After his removal, the council voted to ban Mays from meetings for a month. It is the fourth time this year the council has voted to remove Mays, who has made headlines consistently for his actions both inside and outside council chambers. MORE
