Cuts to climate change, civil rights scrapped in new draft of education guidelines
 
Controversial cuts proposed in 2018 to Michigan classroom guidelines were rejected Tuesday. Last years' draft of K-12 education standards sought to eliminate referencest to climate change, "core democratic values," the Klu Klux Klan, NAACP, LGBT rights and Roe v. Wade. A new draft restored that language and increased references to issues that were previously on the chopping block. MORE

Measles outbreak spreads to 3rd Southeast Michigan county
 
Michigan's measles outbreak has spread to a third county with the number of infected patients overall rising to 41. The first case of measles was confirmed this week in Washtenaw County, as it joins Oakland and Wayne counties with confirmed cases. The state is dealing with the highest number of measles cases since 1991, when 65 people had the disease. MORE
