Just over half the students at the University of Michigan hail from the state of Michigan. In fact, this fall U-M enrolled students from 82 of Michigan's 83 counties. (The Upper Peninsula's Keweenaw County was the lone holdout.) However, Ann Arbor is a major national and international draw. Out of state students make up a whopping 49 percent of the student body. There are more than 2,000 students on campus from three states: California, Illinois and New York. MORE ►Enrollment trends at U-M |
