Proposed bill would eliminate concealed carry licenses in Michigan
 
A package of proposed Republican-sponsored bills would eliminate concealed carry licenses in Michigan. If passed, the legislation would allow Michigan residents to carry concealed weapons without a license. The bills would also allow residents to carry concealed guns in gun-free zones and possess loaded weapons on off-road vehicles. Proponents of the bills say they are aimed at strengthening Second Amendment rights, while opponents argue the current regulations are in place to keep citizens safe. MORE

One of the most recent visits came from Democratic candidate Andrew Yang, who has received attention for a plan he calls the universal basic income. Community cheers on Kalamazoo Marathon runners on race day

Runners taking on the Kalamazoo Marathon yesterday had beautiful weather and the support of spectators lining the 26.2-mile route. Community members made encouraging signs, dressed up in spirited outfits and handed out popsicles to the thousands of racers who took on the challenge. Congrats to all of the participants!  MORE
