Armed boogaloo protesters get chilly reception at events in Lansing, Ann Arbor

Michigan activists are distancing themselves from armed members of the anti-government “boogaloo” movement who appeared at demonstrations against police violence in Lansing and Ann Arbor this weekend. Researchers who study extremist movements describe “boogaloo bois” as a loose collection of activists who believe a bloody civil war could be on the horizon, with some members being committed to accelerating the collapse of government. Boogaloo members have drawn a chilly reception from organizers of Black Lives Matter demonstrations, who are suspicious of their reasons for attending anti-racist protests. MORE
