In today's newsletter, we look at where absentee ballots are most popular in Michigan, the forecast says winter isn't coming too soon and the owner of the Detroit Lions is standing behind Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell. |
It's so hard to read every story (even if you think you pretty much read every story). |
Part of my job entails keeping up with all of the stories we publish on MLive.com. All day, I am on our site and checking the queue of what will soon be published. I think I see everything. But, apparently no one has a perfect record. Today, I realized I had totally missed this story on autumn paddling tips that Emily Bingham published Monday. So I decided to share it here, in case you missed it too. I also failed to share Gus Burns' story on plummeting marijuana prices in Michigan. It's definitely an interesting read.
I guess we all have to just accept that no one can read every single story. But that's why I'm here, offering summaries and links so you can check out the stories that are relevant to you. And you can always read more at MLive.com. |

The extended forecast says we shouldn't expect winter too soon. |
Thank goodness! OK, I know some of you are really into winter and I think that's so cool. I wish I could embrace it. Sure, I love the first snowfall of the year for its beauty. But then it gets old, fast. So I'm happy to hear we won't be going into full-blown winter mode too soon.
From Mark's forecast: "The extended forecast shows a high chance of warmer than normal temperatures for Michigan. The first few days of November have a 70% to 80% chance of warmer than normal temperatures."
In case you missed it:Here's Mark's first Halloween forecast (and costume tips). But make sure you keep coming back because he'll update us as Monday gets closer. |

Meet Michigan's 'ignored' third-party candidates for top offices. |
The other choices: After four years in office, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is a household name. Her Republican opponent, Tudor Dixon, is getting there, too. But there are more than two governor nominees on the ballot this November. Meet them here. Words from one candidate: "I want to represent a growing number of Michigan voters who are not on Team Red or Team Blue," said Mary Buzuma, the Libertarian Party nominee for governor who also ran in 2014.
All the info you need to vote: Yes, I have given you a lot of reminders, but with election day coming up so fast, it bears repeating — you can find info on the candidates and issues on your ballot by visiting the Vote 411 website. |
