Exposed to COVID-19? Michigan says you don’t have to quarantine anymore As Michigan’s COVID situation continues to improve, the state health department is further easing some of its guidance related to quarantining and case reporting. The most significant change made was the move away from home quarantining for individuals who are exposed to someone who is positive for COVID-19. Instead, that individual should monitor themselves for symptoms for 10 days and consider wearing a mask around others for that time. The health department still recommends that individuals who test positive to isolate at home for five days. If symptoms have improved or no symptoms develop, those individuals can leave isolation after five days if they wear a well-fitted mask for another five days. The 200 millionth vehicle is expected to cross the Mackinac Bridge this year, roughly 65 years after traffic began crossing the iconic structure in November 1957. The milestone is anticipated sometime in June, according to Mackinac Bridge Authority staff. The bridge is making plans for a low-key celebration, similar to that for the 150 million crossing, which occurred about 12 years ago on Sept. 6, 2009 about 5:30 p.m., the day before Labor Day, when approximately 50,000 people walked the five-mile span over the Straits of Mackinac. MLB, players reach deal to end 99-day lockout Major League Baseball and the union for its players reached a tentative agreement to end the 99-day lockout. Several reports said that regular season games would begin April 7, which means the Tigers would likely open the season on April 8 at Comerica Park against the Chicago White Sox. As a part of the deal, MLB is expected to play a full, 162-game season, using doubleheaders and a three-day extension of the season in October to make up for the games that were canceled during the lockout. The two sides had been split on a wide range of issues, but the final deal will increase the league’s minimum pay while providing a fund for high-achieving young players who have yet to reach the higher salaries afforded through the arbitration process.
