 Faster Horses is a country music festival at Michigan International Speedway in the southern part of the state, near Jackson. It started in 2013 with dreams of rivaling iconic musics festivals like Lollapalooza in Chicago. It quickly became known as a "three-day hillbilly sleepover" that doesn't even sell single-day tickets and instead fosters a reputation as an anything goes, multi-day red white and blue deluge of debauchery. But beyond the attractiveness of mega country stars and drinking for days lies an ugly truth: An MLive analysis of nearly 130 police reports found sexual assaults, assaults and deaths at this festival have been occurring at a disturbing frequency.
