Happy 100th birthday to Robert Priefer, a captain and a storyteller. |
A century of living is really something to celebrate. That's especially true when one has lived those years so well. Like Robert Priefer, who captained the legendary S.S. Milwaukee Clipper during its last decade in service.
Preifer now helps to preserve the vessel, which rests at the Grand Trunk dock on Muskegon Lake, and he loves to tell stories of the time he spent at the helm as the Clipper transported people back and forth across Lake Michigan from Muskegon to Milwaukee. We are sure he'll tell a few of those stories as they celebrate his milestone birthday on the vessel this Saturday evening. Have a wonderful birthday, captain! And for those interested in ships sailing the Great Lakes, here's a look at the cruise ships bringing tourism bucks to the region.
