New law allows Michigan residents to shoot fireworks this year from June 29 to July 5
 
The 4th of July didn't come a week early this year. But some might say the revelry did. To the chagrin of pet owners across the state, the legal launching of fireworks started Saturday. A new fireworks law went into effect this year. Consumer fireworks are permissible statewide now through July 5 until 11:45 p.m. each evening. Another notable change in the law is if your community doesn't have a local ordinance in place regulating fireworks, state law allows the use of fireworks all year long. MORE
