Bill Schuette selects Lisa Posthumus Lyons for Lt. Gov. running mate   The Republican ticket in the race for Michigan governor is set. On Wednesday in Grand Rapids, Bill Schuette announced that Kent County Clerk Lisa Posthumus Lyons is his choice for lieutenant governor. Great Lakes temps are great for those that like swimming in bath water   Lake Michigan beaches are where its at for beachgoers as we near the end of summertime fun. The temperatures Wednesday at a handful of popular sugar-sand beaches on Michigan's sunset side hovered in the mid to high 70s. Lake Erie was showing similar readings, while Lake Huron was, mostly, a few ticks below. Victor Martinez all but announces 2018 will be his last    The Detroit Tigers are nearing the end of a mostly forgettable season. Victor Martinez is nearing the end of a mostly excellent career. After the Tigers' 6-5 loss Wednesday to the White Sox, Martinez said, "I'm pretty sure this is going to be it." His remarks are not a shock. V-Mart turns 40 in December and is in the final year of his contract.
