High Great Lakes water levels cause havoc across Michigan
 
Some of Michigan's most lovely beaches have simply disappeared this year. They've been swallowed by the fresh water of the Great Lakes. Mostly a celebrated commodity in our state, the lakes have caused problems for residents this year as water levels climb. The record-breaking levels have caused small inconveniences for some and absolute heartbreak for others. It isn't just one lakeshore town feeling the effects, either. The high water levels are impacting communities from Detroit to the Upper Peninsula to Muskegon and beyond. MORE

Calls mount for Michigan civil rights director to resign
 
More than 20 Michigan lawmakers have called for the resignation of Michigan Department of Civil Rights Director Agustin Arbulu after accusations that he made comments objectifying women. An investigation concluded Arbulu "more likely than not" made inappropriate comments about a woman outside a middle school where he was attending a listening session. The department reprimanded Arbulu but the group of lawmakers asking for his resignation say the punishment wasn't enough. MORE
