Heightened police presence planned for today's protest at Michigan Capitol
 
Protesters are planning to once again take to the Michigan Capitol lawn for a rally in opposition of the state's stay-at-home order. Law enforcement officials are telling those who plan to attend to expect an increased police presence and consequences for unlawful behavior. Michigan State Police, along with the Michigan Attorney General's Office, have said anyone brandishing a firearm with the intent to create fear could be subject to criminal prosecution. Organizers of the rally have said they encourage only peaceful protesting and state they did not ask protestors to bring firearms to past rallies at the Capitol, though armed protestors did attend. MORE

During a radio interview this week, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer echoed others who have said they expect football will see some changes this fall. While the NFL plans to have a normal 16-game season, many anticipate there will be adjustments to crowd sizes this year. Of course, we will still have to wait to see exactly what precautions will be necessary this fall.
