While the set income limits are still the same to qualify for welfare benefits in Michigan, the amount of assets you can have to qualify has increased significantly. Now, those who meet income limits can have up to $15,000 worth of assets and still be eligible for assistance. The new asset limits went into effect Sunday after Gov.
