Michigan voters may reject Biden over Israel-Hamas war |
The latest:As the civilian death toll in Palestine rises, calls for a cease-fire have been prompted and a four-day pause in fighting began last week. Calls for a lasting cease-fire have, so far, been rejected. As recently as Nov. 18, Biden himself panned the idea in a Washington Post editorial, saying a cease-fire would only give Hamas “time they exploit to rebuild their stockpile of rockets, reposition fighters and restart the killing by attacking innocents again.” On Nov. 22, twenty-six Michigan lawmakers called on Biden to “advance a lasting cease-fire” in Gaza. As the 2024 election cycle inches closer, some Michigan Democrats say they'll forego voting for Biden's reelection campaign due to his handling of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. |
