How MSU's culture fostered a sexual predator and masked assaults
It wasn't just Larry Nassar. Certainly the former doctor who was found guilty of sexually assaulting his patients is in a class all to himself. However, it has become abundantly clear he was allowed to thrive at Michigan State University thanks, in part, to a culture which put institution before student time and time again. Such is the conclusion drawn by MLive reporters Emily Lawler and Julie Mack. The two have been at the forefront of MSU's sexual abuse scandal. Their latest work is cutting and comprehensive, and a must read. MORE

Fish consumption restrictions and beach closures continue to occur on the bay at higher levels than other areas of the second largest Great Lake. MORE

Meijer Gardens announces 31 acts for summer series

Clearly, Lyle Lovett likes performing at Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids. The award-winning crooner is returning this summer with his Large Band to the outdoor amphitheater for the 13th time in its 15-year history. The venue's summer lineup includes plenty of old standbys and a few newer acts. We'd list a few more, but it is more fun to parse through the list yourself. We wouldn't want to ruin the fun! MORE
