Fiat Chrysler pulls proposal to merge with Renault   A proposed merger between Fiat Chrysler and Renault would have created the world's third-largest automaker. However, after a promising start, talks hit a snag and FCA backed away. The Auburn-based automaker is blaming politics in France. France, which owns a stake in Renault, is blaming FCA. Normandy invasion veteran describes the hellish days after D-Day   Jerry Johnston took part in the Normandy invasion. His best friend died during the D-Day landing. He arrived a day later and escaped multiple brushes with death while fighting in World War II.
