How Kalamazoo mass shooter Jason Dalton's guilty plea stopped his murder trial
On Feb. 20, 2016, an Uber driver went on a rampage, killing six people across Kalamazoo County. Nearly three years later, Jason Dalton admitted his responsibility for the shooting spree that left families devastated, as well as two surviving victims. Dalton's defense attorney had advised him against pleading guilty to the 16 charges, but said Dalton did not want to put his family and the victims' families through a lengthy trial. During sentencing, scheduled for Feb. 5, Dalton will face a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. MORE
