Jason Dalton trial starts nearly three years after Kalamazoo mass shooting
Nearly three years after a shooting rampage across Kalamazoo County killed six and seriously injured two, the man who police say is responsible will stand trial. Jason Brian Dalton faces six counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder and several felony firearms charges. Jury selection started Thursday for the trial, which could take up to two weeks. MORE

Whitmer requests legal review of Line 5 pipeline legislation
 
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer this week requested an opinion from Attorney General Dana Nessel regarding the oil and gas pipeline under the Straits of Mackinac. At issue is the legality of recent action to keep Enbridge Energy's Line 5 under the Straits and the formation of the new Mackinac Straits Corridor Authority, which is charged with the oversite of the pipeline. MORE
