Whitmer says protest 'depicted some of the worst racism' and doesn't represent Michigan

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer appeared on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday morning to discuss multiple topics, including last week's protest at the Michigan Capitol. During the appearance, Whitmer heightened her criticism of the protest, which was organized to show opposition to Whitmer's stay-at-home executive order. While she had previously called some aspects of the rally "disturbing," she went a step further on CNN, calling Confederate flags, nooses and Nazi imagery spotted at the protest "outrageous" and racist. She told host Jake Tapper images circulated of the rally are "not representative of who we are in Michigan." MORE
