Detroit Lions get much-needed win in big upset over New England Patriots
Every Detroit Lions fan breathed a sigh of relief when the clock wound down during Sunday Night Football and the team's first win of the season was secured. It was a surprise win too, since the Patriots were favored by pretty much every person in the world. But Detroit found a run game, with Kerryon Johnson becoming the first Lion to rush for 100-plus yards since 2013. The defense showed up in a big way too. And Matt Prater's leg was kicking everything perfectly. With both Green Bay and Minnesota losing yesterday and the Bears leading the NFC North with a 2-1 record, is it time to get our hopes up for a Lions takeover? We'll take it week by week. MORE

Wolves from U.P., Minnesota to be caught, flown to Isle Royale
 
In an effort to increase the wolf population on Isle Royale, as many as eight wolves will be captured and transported to the remote Michigan island during the next six weeks. A long-term goal is to relocate as many as 30 wolves, some possibly being captured in Canada. But why is there a push to repopulate a wolf pack on Isle Royale? A large moose population on the island has been a growing concern and, without a predator, the number of moose is likely to continue its growth. How will the wolves travel, you ask? The richest, poorest cities and counties in the U.S.

We recently learned Flint had the highest poverty rate in the country for the second year in a row, according to 2017 Census data. The 39-percent poverty rate in the Michigan city is the highest in the U.S. Flint comes in third when looking at poorest cities based on median household income. There are cities across the country dealing with high poverty levels, with the Rust Belt hit especially hard. Where is the wealth? It's a little more concentrated, with California acting as home to many of the country's richest cities and counties. MORE
