Tax revenue from recreational marijuana in Michigan would be gutted by lame duck bill
Later this week, recreational marijuana use becomes legal in Michigan. But as Thursday's legalization approaches, one Michigan legislator is looking to make changes to the proposal passed by voters last month. Outgoing Senate Majority Leader Arlan Meekhof has introduced a bill that would drastically reduce the amount of tax revenue the state would receive from the sale of recreational marijuana. The bill also proposes a ban on individuals growing their own marijuana. But in order for Meekhof's bill to pass, a three-fourths majority will need to vote for it. MORE

Nibbles and Bill are like members of the Dyke family. These emotional support animals play an important role in the life of 13-year-old Dylan Dyke, who has autism. But unlike many support animals, these aren't dogs. The pair of ducks drew complaints from neighbors and then the Dyke family found out their home wasn't in an area zoned for duck ownership. It was a heartbreaking discovery for the family, but they wouldn't just give up on Nibbles and Bill, considering what the animals mean to Dylan. In the end, the story is a happy one.
