September 22, 2020 Census data can tell us a lot about communities throughout the state. For instance, it can tell us the average median household income for locations all across Michigan. Here, we have compiled that information -- taken from newly released 2019 Census data -- and made a ranking of municipalities. Some starter info: The state's estimated median income for 2019 was $59,584, up 5.1% from $56,697 in 2018, while the overall poverty rate dropped from 14.1% in 2018 to 13% in 2019. Speaking of the US Census, don't forget that it is a Census year. If you haven't filled out your Census yet, you have a little more than a week until the Sept. 30 deadline arrives. In 2016, the young entrepreneurs started selling “Elite Pockets" silicone cardholders to friends and businesses. That one jump into the world of business led them to starting their own operation. Now in their second year running the business -- Zuplift -- the duo has reached more than $1 million in sales. MORE Michigan has had 67 new coronavirus clusters identified in the past week and 127 ongoing clusters. Most of the outbreaks are associated with schools or long-term care facilities, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services website. The 194 clusters include 58 associated with a K-12 school or college and 50 linked to nursing homes. Clusters being tracked by local health departments are included in the state’s new online outbreak tracker, which is updated weekly on Mondays.
