Michigan college town ranked the No. 1 best place to live in America in 2023

A2 is #1: Out of every city in the entire country, Ann Arbor has just been ranked the best place to live in America in 2023. The top listing comes from the research website, StudyFinds.org.
How we got here: To come up with its top-five list, Study Finds says it looked at 10 recent expert lists of the top places to live in the country from sites like Money, Livability and Moving Waldo. The top five cities it ranked were ones which were the most frequently listed atop reviews. What they've said about the city: “There’s a flourishing arts scene, a growing number of breweries and wineries, a year-round farmers market and an active downtown full of locally-owned shops and restaurants.,” Money.com wrote in ranking Ann Arbor 8 out of its top 50. |

With a warmer week coming next week, it appears that Great Lakes ice cover has reached its highest point for the winter. On most of the lakes, the peak ice occurred at least one month before the normal peak. It looks like this winter will go down as one of the lowest ice cover years on the Great Lakes. Mark says keep the shovels out: Despite the warmer weather we've had, there still may be a few snowstorms in store for us this month. Speaking of winter: For those looking for an adventure and willing to brave the cold and snow, Tahquamenon Falls is definitely a place to put on your winter getaway list. | Michigan fourth graders get state park field trip in Whitmer budget |
Exploring the great outdoors: Among the parks and recreation plans within Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s proposed budget is a new program for all Michigan fourth graders to get a state park field trip. More in Lansing: A bill that would have required Michigan schools to screen every student in kindergarten through third grade for signs of dyslexia and to provide specialized interventions for those who need them died in the state House last year despite bipartisan support. Supporters are trying again. Also in politics: A Flint man who officials say kept "trophies" from the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol was sentenced to prison. |

| Ex-Western Michigan WR scores fourth-quarter touchdown in Super Bowl |
Former Western Michigan standout wide receiver Skyy Moore has etched his name into history, scoring an all-important touchdown to give the Kansas City Chiefs an eight-point lead in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl. Oh, and it’s also the first touchdown of the rookie’s career. Super Bowl champions: Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs went into halftime limping, trailing 24-14 to the Philadelphia Eagles. But they dug out of that hole to beat the Eagles 38-35. This is what’s being said nationally after Chiefs comeback to win Super Bowl 57.
About Michigan's online betting: Super Bowl 2021 was the first major sporting event on which Michigan residents could lawfully wager. Two years later, the number of states with legalized online sports betting and gaming has climbed from 15 to 36, and calls to the Michigan’s Problem Gambling Hotline have increased drastically, as have referrals for gambling disorder treatment.
