Wolverines find their shooting touch, reach Elite 8  
Michigan entered the Sweet 16 of the NCAA men's basketball tournament lucky to be there. (See Saturday's season-saving shot by freshman Jordan Poole). Thursday's opponent Texas A&M was high off a dismantling of defending national champion North Carolina. The game figured to be a toss up, pitting U-M's quickness against A&M's towering height. Go ahead and score one for the little guys. This game wasn't close to being close. The Wolverines found their offense, kept playing stingy defense and moved on to the Elite 8 with a 99-72 victory. Group pushes for removal of cross from state-owned land
 
A large white cross has stood atop the second tallest hill in Jackson County for nearly 70 years. A civil rights group has taken umbrage with this monument because it is on state-owned land. Law enforcement and school groups unite to address school safety, ask legislators for funds
 
A bipartisan group of school leaders and law enforcement officials are asking state lawmakers for $120 million in grants to help make Michigan schools safer. The coalition expects support in Lansing because much of its plan is based on proven programs and is purposely not focused on guns. Schools in Michigan have seen an alarming increase in reported threats since the Feb. 14 school shooting in Parkland, Florida. MORE
