Michigan representatives denounce attack on U.S. Capitol by pro-Trump mob Michigan’s representatives in Congress expressed deep disappointment with the state of the country Wednesday while sheltering from violent rioters who breached the U.S. Capitol and disrupted a procedural step in finalizing the presidential election. Supporters of President Donald Trump rallied in Washington D.C. to protest his loss, culminating in a march on the Capitol where dozens of demonstrators broke into the building and clashed with police. One person was reported to have been shot and killed during the chaos. As the nation watched, politicians from across the country spoke out about the unprecedented event. That phase of vaccinations will begin on Monday, but those who qualify can sign up now. “The more people we can get the safe and effective vaccine, the faster we can return to a sense of normalcy,” said Gov. Whitmer in a press release. The news also comes as Michigan starts administering the second dose of vaccines to those who already received a first dose.
