Michigan Republicans reject charges facing Trump in impeachment articles
 
Democrats on Tuesday unveiled two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump. A few hours later, Michigan's Republican delegation summarily rejected them. The state's five Republican U.S. House members previously expressed firm opposition to the impeachment inquiry, which they said has been an unfair process from the beginning. Former Republican-turned-Independent, Justin Amash, said there "should be unanimous" support for impeachment before the articles were announced Tuesday. MORE

Kalamazoo's old candy cane decorations fetch thousands at auction
 
In retrospect, it seems pretty obvious. But now we know for sure: Don't mess with a city's beloved giant candy cane decorations. The citizenry of Kalamazoo cried "bah, humbug" when the popular Candy Cane Lane holiday display in a downtown park got an updated look. (The new ones stand upright while the old ones lean.) The city took note and put all 48 old canes up for auction so people could own a piece of community nostalgia. MORE
