Michigan's next winter storm is heading our way and here are 6 things you should know
 
As some Michigan communities are still recovering from our last storm, another is scheduled to land in Michigan tonight. Beyond that, forecasters are predicting that three or four winter weather systems will hit Michigan within the next week or so. The system heading in tonight is expected to impact different areas of Michigan in different ways as it potentially sticks around until Wednesday. While some areas could just see snow, others are likely to get hit with a snow and freezing rain combo. Oh, and don't forget about the gusty winds. MORE

Vaccine waiver rates leaving Michigan schools vulnerable to disease
 
According to public health data, hundreds of Michigan schools are vulnerable to outbreaks of diseases like measles and whooping cough based on the number of children with vaccination waivers. Public officials recommend a 95-percent vaccination rate to protect against measles, the most contagious disease. Records released for 2017 show more than 1,000 K-12 schools within the state had a vaccine waiver rate of more than 5 percent. MORE
