What some people bring to the airport   You'd think the restrictions in place at airports for carry-on items would be part of the national consciousness by now. You'd be wrong though. Some people's kids still don't know you can't take martial arts weaponry onto an airplane. We are willing to forgive the occasional can of shaving cream. Whitmer creates task force to study court system, jails   Governor Gretchen Whitmer is convinced Michigan can do better with its criminal justice system. The Michigan Task Force on Jail and Pretrial Incarceration will try to determine if she is right. Matthews officially leaving college for NBA hat  He came to Michigan as a fallen star. After a stellar prep career in Chicago, Charles Matthews headed to Kentucky as a heralded prospect with designs on an early NBA career. It didn't work out for him in Lexington. So he went north to Ann Arbor, sat out a year and then helped lead Michigan to its winningest two-year stretch in program history.
