Spartans' dream of Sweet 16 comes to clanking end with horrific shooting display    
Michigan State picked the absolute worst time for its absolute worst shooting night of the season. And now the season is over after Sunday's shocking loss to Syracuse, 55-53, in front of a partisan MSU crowd at Little Caesars Arena in downtown Detroit. The Spartans had difficulty solving the Orangemen's signature 2-3 zone defense, often settling for 3-point attempts that just weren't falling. MSU missed 29 of 37 shots from deep. The Spartans then couldn't buy a bucket from anywhere on the floor down the stretch, missing their final 13 shots from the field. MORE

Building bridges has been a hot topic in Bay City for some time, as the city mulls a proposal to privatize infrastructure. But this bridge debate is spanning increasingly troubled waters. The company that designed the pedestrian bridge that collapsed in Miami on Thursday, killing six, is part of the same company proposing to build a new Independence Bridge in Bay City.
